And Disneyland Paris & Walt Disney Studios Park just may be the first!!!  Jason and I are planning a second honeymoon next year for our 20th wedding anniversary to Scotland and England.  And as it happens, we were seated next to a Scotsman on our flight home from Disney World in January, at which time he told us that there is a train from London that will take you almost to the gates of Disneyland Paris.  Sooo…  if we are in London…  we may have to extend our trip across the channel… 

I have been doing my research online and on YouTube and thanks to Krispy Smore and Ellie Steadman, I have a better feel of the park and what to expect.  And it is a beautiful park!!! 

Here are some sights and attractions I am most excited to see and experience:

Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant or in English – Sleeping Beauty Castle

From what I have seen from pictures and videos, this castle is absolutely beautiful!  It is rich in detail, as any European castle should be, and is just a sight to behold.  And I can’t wait to experience the dragon (La Taniere du Dragon) hiding in the dungeon!!!

Ratatouille:  The Adventure & Bistrot Chez Remy

Ratatouille is one of my favorite Disney movies of recent years and what better park for an attraction than in Paris!  What fun it will be to feel like a small animal scurrying around the streets of Paris!  And of course, we just must have lunch with Remy in his larger-than-life restaurant.

Crush’s Coaster

This just sounds like too much fun!  Crush is one of the most memorable characters and deserves his own ride.  I love the Seas with Nemo and Turtle Talk with Crush at Epcot, but wouldn’t it be fun to take these characters and throw in a bit of thrill as well?  Sounds good to me…  Who doesn’t like a good rollercoaster? 

Space Mountain:  Mission 2

I read once that this ride is Space Mountain’s ‘bigger, badder brother’.  Count me in!  Space Mountain was one of the rides that stands out the most from my first trip to Disney World when I was 11, so it holds a special place in my heart.  Absolutely I want to experience this ride in a new and exciting format!

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril

Are you noticing a theme here with the rollercoasters?  Well that’s because I am a bit of an adrenaline junky…  I have not yet met a coaster I wouldn’t ride (there have been a few I didn’t care for, but I tried them).  I have heard nothing but praise on this ride!  I love the Indiana Jones series and always watch the stunt show at Hollywood Studios, so I am really looking forward to this.

Toy Story Playland & Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast

With Toy Story Land being built in Hollywood Studios, I am super curious to see how this will look. If I am able to visit Disneyland Paris before the opening in HS….  Well it will be a neat experience to get an idea what to expect.  I haven’t met a Pixar movie I didn’t like, and Toy Story 1, 2 & 3 are in my top 10 of all time!  And of course I have to try to become a Galactic Hero.

Meeting Mickey Mouse

Part of my goal of visiting every Disney park, is to meet Mickey in each of these parks!  Why?  Because in my heart, Mickey Mouse IS Disney! He is my all time favorite character!

So these are just a few I have highlighted.  I also want to experience Alice’s Curious Labyrinth (Alice is not one of my favorite stories, but I have seen pictures of this and it is a must do for me).  And visit my favorites with a Paris twist:  Phantom Manor (aka Haunted Mansion), Pirates of the Caribbean, Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster.  And Disneyland Paris has attractions that can no longer be found at Walt Disney World…  Studio Tram Tour and Moteurs… Action! Stunt Show Spectacular (aka Lights, Motor, Action! at Hollywood Studios) which originated in DLP.

But overall, I looks like an amazing park and I cannot wait to see it in person.  I will brush up on my very limited abysmal French…  but I have been told that you can enjoy the park perfectly in English.  Hopefully, we will be able to go in June 2017, fingers crossed.

• This was the place that Walt created!  He came up with the idea of the first ever theme park and made it a reality.  Being able to go and be in the original Disney park, I believe, is something that every Disney fan would want to do.  I will have to find the window with the always burning lamp in Walt’s apartment and say hello to him, I know he is no longer there, but the spirit of Walt Disney will always be present.
  
• Curiosity… I know the WDW parks well enough to walk through them without a park map.  But Disneyland is a whole new world!  I love to explore and find new things.  And while Magic Kingdom and Disneyland are similar in their layout, they are also vastly different.  Magic Kingdom doesn’t have New Orleans Square or Critter Country or sadly no longer has Toon Town.  These are areas I want to explore! 

• The rides!  The ones that are the same as Disney World, just for the new experience, and the ones that WDW does not have.  I especially am interested in the Haunted Mansion, Hyperspace Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean as I have heard the most on these rides that the Disneyland version is better.  But I also can’t wait for the Indiana Jones Adventure and the Matterhorn!
  
• Disney’s California Adventure!  While Disneyland will feel somewhat familiar since it is similar to Magic Kingdom, DCA will be an entire new experience!!!  Oh so many new things to try…  California Screamin’, Mickey’s Fun Wheel and the Monster’s Inc ride…  Not to mention CARS LAND!  and Bug’s Life Land.  And of course, I would have to ride two of my favorites, Soarin’ and Tower of Terror!
  
• Night time spectaculars:  Paint the Night parade and World of Color.  I have only seen videos of Paint the Night parade and it is one of the things I am most excited about!  It is just so beautiful!  And while I will always love the Main Street Electrical Parade, because it is a classic, I think this parade will be spectacular to behold!  Same goes for World of Color!
  
• Also, while we are so close by, I want to visit the Walt Disney Studios.  I do not know the details about touring the facility, but it is something I would love to do and will keep my fingers crossed and hope it is a possibility!
  
• I am not sure when my family will make it to California, but I hope it is soon!  I just can’t wait to experience the original Disneyland!!!
