Beauty and the Beast LIVE – Performed by Pineville High Theatre

This past weekend, we attended a fantastic play! It was a live version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. It was amazing, beautiful, brilliant! So well done and these high school kids are beyond talented! We have attended their plays in the past so knew it would be a great show!

Making Disney Pin Shadow Boxes & Our Disney & Music Collections

We have been pin trading for several years now and had a bunch of pins that were just sitting in a box when we were not at Disney. So we finally decided to do something with them. We went to the store to buy premade shadow boxes, but they were about $15-20 each and we knew we needed at least four. So I decided, we can make these ourselves! And after a little thought, it was very easy! We took some picture frames we already had and painted them black (this was only because we wanted them to match the other frames on the same wall) and removed the glass and backing. We bought black foam board at the dollar store and cut to the right size and replaced instead of the glass. Voila! DIY shadow boxes! Then just remove the backs off the pins and push them into the foam.

Once we had them complete we rearranged the new ‘Disney’ wall. Jason’s mom painted this beautiful Sorcerer Mickey Mouse which is the centerpiece and he is surrounded by our new shadow boxes and family photos. While we are showing this new collection wall, we will share our family’s hobby/collection/music room. Alisa’s major contribution is the Disney stuff, but also craft supplies and photo and scrapbooks. Jason is the musician in the family and shares his collection of guitars, amps, etc… Cameron & Colby had to get in on the fun and brought in their Darth Vader and Yoda Star Wars collections to share. Not in this room, but we also have a fun Disney mug collection and quite a few DVDs. Hope you enjoy these as much as we do

Disney World Vacation Vlog: Day 8 – It’s our last day!!!

Our wonderful vacation has come to an end… So sad to leave the happiest place on earth!!! We head to Magic Kingdom for a relaxing morning. We didn’t rush to get there for rope drop but showed up about 9:15. We caught the Trolley Show on Main Street, something we had not yet seen on this trip, rode the People Mover a few times around Tommorowland, and rode other chill rides like The Carousel of Progress, It’s a Small World and Peter Pan’s Flight. I (Alisa) was able to try the Fruit & Nutella Waffle from Sleepy Hollow for the first time – it was so good!!! And we had a great lunch at Peco’s Bills before we said our final goodbyes to Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World.

But have no fear! Just because this trip is over doesn’t mean we don’t have more to come! Cruise vlogs will start next week and we will be back at Walt Disney World in September!!!

WDW/Universal Vacation Vlog Day 7: Part 3 – End of our day at US/IOA, dinner at Antojitos & Rick the Bus Driver – January 2016

All good things must come to an end… Our fantastic day over at Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure is almost over… We are pleasantly surprised by Seuss Landing at IOA and ride The Cat in the Hat and The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride which were both very enjoyable. We decided to leave IOA and pop back over to Universal Studios to check out some of the Celebration of Harry Potter festivities before calling it a night. Hungry and trying to decide where to eat at City Walk can be a daunting task as there are so many amazing restaurants! But we decide on Antojitos and are so happy we did! The food was amazing and we LOVED the mariachi band that played not only traditional Mexican tunes, but recent pop songs with a twist! Tired and ready to get back ‘home’ we walk over to the bus area to catch our Mears shuttle back to our Disney resort and are met with the most amazing bus driver we have ever met! Rick the Bus Driver is famous in Orlando for entertaining his passengers and we smiled until our faces hurt and laughed until we cried. Hope you enjoy!

WDW/Universal Vacation Vlog Day 7: Part 2 – Islands of Adventure & Wizarding World of Harry Potter – January 2016

We are fully immersed in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios!!! We take the Hogwarts Express from Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross Station over to Hogsmeade Village. We have our first Butterbeer and have an exciting ride on the Dragon’s Challenge. After getting our fill of my favorite part of Universal (and dodging the crazy crowds that are there for the Celebration of Harry Potter), we continue our adventure through Islands of Adventure… It is a interesting transition going from Hogsmeade to Jurassic Park! Love the animatronic dinosaurs there and the ride is a lot of fun! Over in Super Hero Island, The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman ride and Doctor Doom’s Fearfall are both a lot of fun! As is Storm Force Acceleration… which are a whole lot more intense than the Tea Cups at Disney!!! Having a great day so far!!!
