Episode 1: Traveling to Disney World & Port Orleans Riverside – Walt Disney World – September 2016
The day is finally here… the day we have been waiting for for over a year! It’s time to go back to Walt Disney World!!!
Getting there is fun
We decided to try something different this time with travel, we drove to New Orleans and took a direct flight to Orlando… so that means some yummy New Orleans food to get the trip started right! We don’t let the rain dampen our excitement… as we sit in the airport we watch the rain pour down and it is still raining as we board.
This actually made a really neat effect on the plane’s window as we took off as the fast motion of the plane wiped the rain away. Anyhoo, we had a great flight which was partially over the Gulf of Mexico… this was beautiful with clear skies. But as we approached Orlando, guess what, more rain! Again, that’s ok, we were just excited to be there!
Port Orleans Riverside
The ever fun Magical Express brought us to our home for the next 9 days – Port Orleans Riverside… And it was better than we expected! Pulling into the front of the resort, you really get the feeling of the South, us being from Louisiana, we felt right at home. The details in the lobby area were great as well with hidden Mickey’s everywhere – the kids loved that!
One thing I can say about this place is that it is HUGE! I will admit we got a little lost trying to find our room and it took us about two days to figure out where we were going… We stayed in Alligator Bayou in building 16. We loved it! The room was big enough for 5 people to be comfortable and had really wonderful theming. We especially liked the design on the back of the pull down murphy bed which was from Princess & The Frog – one of our favorites!
We opened up our delivery from Amazon Pantry and settled into the room. We loved getting snacks delivered when we fly! We get breakfast and snack items that saves us from spending so much in the parks! Also bottled water and canned sodas are great to have on hand.
Time to eat!
By this time, we were completely starving! We head over to the food court for dinner. The kids had never experienced a food court at a Disney resort, so this was a fun experience. We have previously stayed at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. So having so many options in one location was perfect. We activated our handle-less mugs and sat down to our first meal at Disney! One other note is that the resort has authentic Louisiana food, which we loved! The kids vowed they could eat there at every meal 🙂

Great YouTube video! I loved your idea of the prime pantry box. Can you tell me what you ordered. I can't seem to find exactly what you had on Amazon. It's nice to be able to see what was waiting there for you.
Thanks!
Sorry for the delay in replying, I just saw your comment… What is available changes every day on Amazon. I know leading up to placing the order, items went out of stock several times and I had to choose alternatives. But at least there are many, many snacks to choose from. We get a variety of snacks like granola bars, fruit chews and other packaged items that can go into our backpack and to the parks and also cookies and crackers to eat in the room. Also, breakfast items like poptarts that can be eaten on the go. We also try to get some bottled water and canned drinks to keep in the mini-fridge in our room. Hope this helps and we're so glad you liked the video!
