Episode 4: Lunch at Mama Melrose’s and a whole lot of Star Wars – Walt Disney World – September 2016

Ethan finally gets food! Poor kid, you would have thought we never fed him…

Lunch at Mama Melrose

We have an amazing lunch at Mama Melrose’s in the newly named Muppet Courtyard and it was AMAZING!!! We had booked the Fantasmic Dinner Package since we were on the Disney Dining Plan (hint, it doesn’t cost extra if you have the dining plan!!!) and we got a surprise that we each got to choose an appetizer to go along with an entree and dessert!

So we decided to share and tr a few new things… mussels, fresh mozzarella & tomatoes and Caesar salad plus two huge baskets of yummy yummy bread with olive oil.

And that was just getting started! Jason had the Spaghetti and Meatballs, Cameron & Alisa both had the Chicken Parmigiana and Ethan & Colby both had the Shrimp pasta. It was all delicious! For dessert, there is a special trio for the dinner package which includes a blood orange sponge cake, tiramisu and passion fruit cheesecake… these came with mixed results but overall very good!

Time for Star Wars!

All full, we head off for a Star Wars Extravaganza!!! First the boys must pose for a picture on the Imperial Speeder Bike, then off to Launch Bay. There is only a 10 minute wait for the meet & greets so we decide to face Kylo Ren first. Colby went in with a plan… He was not at all intimidated and asked ‘Ben, why did you kill your father?’ He received a cold response that ‘we do not discuss him’ and then we were ordered to leave… But on the way out Colby could not help one more jab saying “Darth Vader is stronger than you!” We were entertained even if Kylo Ren was not!

We skipped meeting our favorite Wookie because the line got too long but the boys had a great time with a shy Jawa and we loved seeing all of the memorabilia in Launch Bay. Finally, we head to the main stage for the Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away show. One word… AWESOME! The show runs quickly through the entire saga and bring our favorite characters to the stage including R2D2, C3PO, BB-8, Chewbacca and the best bad guys… Darth Vader with the Storm Troopers, Captain Phasma, Boba Fett and of course… Kylo Ren.

But the day is not over… where will we go next?
