Why a Mediterranean Cruise Is the Best Way to Experience Southern Europe (And Why I Can’t Wait to Finally Do It!)

There’s something magical about Europe.
The centuries-old cities. The incredible food. The history around every corner. The crystal-clear blue water. It’s a destination that sits on so many travel bucket lists… but trying to see it all by land can be overwhelming.
That’s exactly why I believe a Mediterranean cruise is the absolute best way to experience this incredible part of the world.
And this week… I’m finally getting to experience it for myself.
Jason and I are boarding Royal Caribbean’s brand-new Legend of the Seas for an unforgettable sailing from Rome through Italy, France, and Spain, and I couldn’t be more excited to share every moment with you!
🚢 Your Hotel Travels With You
One of the biggest reasons I love cruising is simple…
You only unpack once.
Instead of dragging luggage through train stations, checking into multiple hotels, or figuring out transportation between cities, your cruise ship becomes your floating luxury hotel.
Each morning you wake up somewhere new.
One day you’re walking the ancient streets of Italy…
The next you’re enjoying the French Riviera…
Then suddenly you’re exploring colorful Spanish ports.
All while sleeping in the same comfortable cabin every night.
🌍 Visit Multiple Countries in One Vacation
One vacation…
Multiple countries.
That’s one of the greatest advantages of cruising the Mediterranean.
Instead of spending valuable vacation time traveling between destinations, you’re spending your days actually experiencing them.
Imagine having breakfast while sailing into a brand-new country.
By lunchtime, you’re wandering cobblestone streets.
By dinner, you’re back onboard enjoying world-class dining as your ship sails toward tomorrow’s adventure.
That’s hard to beat.

🍝 Every Port Has Its Own Personality
One of the things I’m most looking forward to is experiencing just how different each destination feels.
🇮🇹 Italy
From ancient Roman history to charming seaside villages, incredible pasta, pizza, gelato, and espresso—Italy has so much to offer beyond what you can fit into one vacation.
🇫🇷 France
The French Riviera has long been on my bucket list. Beautiful coastlines, glamorous seaside towns, amazing cafés, and that unmistakable Mediterranean atmosphere.
🇪🇸 Spain
Spain brings colorful architecture, vibrant plazas, incredible tapas, lively culture, and beautiful waterfront cities that are made for wandering.
Each stop offers a completely different experience without ever changing hotels.

🍷 You Experience Europe… Without Feeling Rushed
One thing we’ve learned after years of traveling is this…
You don’t have to see everything.
Sometimes the best travel memories come from slowing down.
Enjoying a long lunch.
Finding a quiet café.
Watching the world go by from a waterfront bench.
A Mediterranean cruise gives you enough time to experience each destination while still allowing you to relax onboard between ports.
It’s a wonderful balance between sightseeing and vacation.
🌅 The Journey Is Just As Beautiful As the Destinations
One thing people often forget is that the cruise itself becomes part of the experience.
Watching the coastline drift by.
Relaxing on your balcony.
Sunsets over the Mediterranean Sea.
Ocean breezes with a coffee in hand.
Some of the best memories happen between ports.

⭐ Why I’m So Excited About Legend of the Seas
This sailing is extra special because we’ll be experiencing Royal Caribbean’s newest Icon Class ship—Legend of the Seas.
Not only do we get to explore some of Europe’s most iconic destinations, but we’ll also be sailing on one of the most innovative cruise ships ever built.
That means incredible entertainment…
Amazing restaurants…
Beautiful neighborhoods…
Exciting attractions…
And plenty of relaxing places to simply enjoy the journey.
As someone who absolutely loves cruise ships, getting to combine a brand-new ship with one of the world’s most beautiful itineraries is about as perfect as it gets.
Follow Along With Our Adventure!
This isn’t just another cruise for us.
It’s our first Mediterranean cruise, and I honestly can’t think of a better way to experience this incredible region of Europe.
Over the next several days we’ll be exploring historic cities, tasting local cuisine, discovering hidden gems, touring one of Royal Caribbean’s newest ships, and sharing everything we learn along the way.
If you’ve ever wondered whether a Mediterranean cruise should be on your bucket list…
Stay tuned.
We’re about to find out together.
